Your Memories Shared!

"I remember when the video first came on MTV. It was simple, not much in the visual department. The thing I do not understand is why or how paint becomes involved twards the end of the video. [Editor's note: These were all pretty low-budget affairs in the early Awesome80s. I'm sure they thought it would be a cool and colorful (and cheap) way to end the video. As someone who also remembers when this video debuted, I can tell you that I thought it was effective - at the time.]"

"I remember being in the second or third grade when Freeze Frame came out and a classmate brought in a copy of the album on tape. In our class room we had cheap little cassette players that we could listen to cassettes that had reading lessons, english lessons on them and so forth. Well, he told us about the last song on the tape called Piss on the Wall and told us we had to hear it. So we each took turns listening to this song and being at such a young age, we burst into fits of laughter upon hearing the word PISS so many times in one song. Well, the teacher came to the table where we had our cassette players to find out what was so funny. She took a listen, shook her head and walked away. Turns out she was a fan of the band too!"

"Years ago I was the Technical director on the Joe Franklin Show. When this album was released and was a hit, the band turned down all talk shows until Joe Franklin invited them. It was a statement to the elite TV people. They performed Freeze Frame (lip sync), but at the end we dropped buckets of real paint from the rafters and froze the shot with the paint in mid air. Classic memory."
