"The sound of this album was so new and fresh, cutting edge at the time of its 1984 release. Tina Turner's vocals was married to this music. The record is a blend of pop, rock, with a dash of r&b. Private Dancer returned Tina to superstardom with hits such as Whats Love Got To Do With It, Private Dancer, Better Be Good To Me, Let's Stay Together, and Show some Respect. It also spawned 4 grammy awards including record of the year, and nominated for album of the year at the 1984 Grammy Awards. What an album, what a woman. Fantastic recording from start to finish, you couldnt improve on it." --Anonymous | "I love this artist this album and defiantly this year in music! This brings back so many wonderful memories!!!" --bugnout77 | "There is no question in 1984, Tina should have taken album of the year. She was the overwhelming succes story of that year, and she deserved that fourth grammy-Album of the Year! Lionel Richie....come on!!!!" --JasonBixby | "I fell in love with Tina as a young boy watching this video. Talk about a childhood crush!" --Anonymous | "This album was released the year I was born, 1984. I grew up to become the BIGGEST Tina fan in this universe and this album stands to be her all time classic. This remains her biggest selling album and it contains her biggest hit, Whats Love. . . ? If you want to buy a Tina album, this would be good, but don't forget her others. My favorite being 1996's Wildest Dreams.
TINA IS THE QUEEN, AND WILL ALWAYS BE!" --Jamie, UK | "I was fourteen at the time Tina had a comeback that blew the music industry on its ear. Even at that age fourteen and her "certain age" her rendition Lets Stay Together gave me shivers.
Private Dancer should have been Album of the Year. I bought tape, record and in the early ninties CD which I have keep since 84.
xxPeter Bakos" --xxPeter Bakos | "Donīt you forget that the hit song was made by a fellow called Mark Knopfler." --Ziani |
