1982-83 Basketball Cards

With Topps having abandoned the market for basketball cards and with the Star Company still not producing cards, the only sets of NBA cards that were produced for the 1982-83 season were for local police departments to give out in Portland and Denver.

Topps produced a set of "what if" rookie cards in 1993 called Topps Archives: The Rookies 1981-1991, featuring cards for all the star players they missed during those years and featuring the design of the baseball card for that year. For example, the Dominique Wilkins on the right features a contemporary photograph and is in the style of the '82 Topps Baseball cards.
