1982 Topps Football Cards

Topps last set of 528 cards featured the team helmet on the front for the first time. Topps used a similar design in 1975 with a generic helmet. In fact, it seems Topps must have made additional payments to the NFL as the team logos were not airbrushed off the helmets in the photos for the first time. This did give the set a nicer look than previous sets.

Rookies include Lawrence Taylor, Ronnie Lott, Anthony Munoz, George Rogers, Freeman McNeil, James Brooks, and Cris Collinsworth. The cards were ordered numerically by team for the first time, with teams appearing in alphabetically order by conference (Baltimore Colts first, Washington Redskins last).

Topps produced their second straight set of stickers in 1982, this time a set of 288 with the All-Pros in gold or silver foil. To promote the stickers, Topps place one in each wax pack of regular football cards. Those stickers have the words "coming soon" on the back which differentiates themselves from the stickers issued in their own packs with their own album.

Kellogg's also produced a set of 24 cards (a 8 3-card panels) for boxes of Raisin Bran cereal. It was their first football set since 1971, but was not 3D.
