1984-85 O-Pee-Chee Hockey Cards

O-Pee-Chee produced it's last set 396 hockey cards of the decade in 1984-85 (it would drop to 264 cards in 1985). The colorful set features the popular Steve Yzerman rookie card as well as rookies of Dave Andreychuk, Cam Neely, Doug Gilmour, Pat Lafontaine, and Chris Chelios.

The set also has some of the sharpest photography seen in hockey card sets to that point. The colors of the design elements on the front finally matched the team colors and the additional face photo on the front was another nice touch. Though Topps had started including a second photo with its 1983 baseball card set, they didn't produce a hockey card set for a second straight year and O-Pee-Chee seemed no worse off for their absence.
