Super Bowl XVBy Patrick Mondout
Super Bowl XV was played January 25, 1981 in the Superdome and was
broadcast on NBC by the announcing team of Dick Enberg and Merlin Olsen.
The Oakland Raiders became the first team to win the Super Bowl after
qualifying for the playoffs as a wildcard. Raiders QB Jim Plunkett, who
took over for the injured Dan Pastorini in week 5, was named the game's
MVP after throwing for 261 yards and three touchdowns.
