Full House

By Robert V.

Full House was a sitcom which lasted from 1987-1995. The premise of the series was that a father, Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) had become recently widowed with the death of his wife Pam. The couple had three girls together, Donna Jo, a.k a. "D. J." (Candace Cameron), Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin), and Michelle (Mary Kate & Ashley Fuller - the Olsen twins).

Danny, who is a network television sportscaster, invites his brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos), who is Pam's brother, and friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) to help him to raise his children. What results are hilarious situations and hijinks for all six residents of the Tanner household.

In the season starting 1989, Rebecca Donaldson (Lori Loughlin), who is Danny's co-host on "Wake Up San Francisco" (the show Danny becomes a part of after working as a sportscaster), becomes Jesse's love interest, and later they marry and have twins (Nick and Alex). Jesse and Rebecca at first decide to move out into their own home, but Michelle becomes extremely despondent at this, and they decide to move into the attic (which they completely refurbish, and which is oddly spacious). Henceforth the Tanner home truly becomes a "Full House" in every sense of the word.

Throughout it's eight seasons, it had varying success. After the first season, the show had actually been considered for termination, probably on account of the bad reviews it had been receiving. However, a large swath of the American people came to love the show, which is the reason the show came to last for so long.

The season finale of season eight, which was a two-parter totaling an hour in length, actually turned out to be the abrupt series finally for the entire show. The cast and crew found out about this only later on.

Your Memories Shared!

"I enjoyed the episode with the Beach Boys. I was a huge Beach Boys fan and was able to see their 25th Anniversary tour with John Stamos playing drums. I saw them in Feb. '87 and I think Full House had just been on a short time or came on around that time. I had watched John Stamos in "You Again" with Jack Klugman around that time as well."

"I have always liked that one episode when michelle was a baby and jesse and joey didn't know how to change her and so they finally acconplished it in the sink, I always thought that was funny, I always thought Michelle wwas very cute when she was little."

--Mellisa

"I liked the episode where Rebecca is giving birth to twins. It showed how Danny knew how to help Rebecca through labor (Jesse is having his appendectomy)."

--Fry Mama

"Oh my God! Full House is the best show of all time! I still watch it today! Me and my friends all thought Jessie was so hot! My favourite episode was when they went to that Casino/Hotel and D.J. and Stephanie won Joey's Jackpot."

--Anonymous

"I love Full House so much, I love just about ever episode, me and my friends grew up with it!I I saw John Stamos with the Beach Boys about 8 years ago and then I saw then again just this month. My friend and I got to sing into the mic with Mike Love and got to met Mike Love and JOHN STAMOS! I got his drumstick and picture and everything. I have been to alot of concerts and I would have to honestly say this was the best concert of my life!"

--Cookie

"Full house is a great show but the episode that I liked the most was when Michelle got jealous of that baby that was spending the night because it was so funny and Stephannie had to give Michelle Mr. Bear but at the end she gets it back. It was a great episode."

--Full Fanatic

"That was the greatest show ever! I liked when Michelle went swiming in the kitchen - it was harlarious."

--bo bo 78

"Jesse was my favorite character. Why you may ask? because he was a fun loving Elvis fan. He always made me laugh even in the sadest episodes! He was also a great uncle not to mention a terrific dad of twins. He was really close to his great family! Why was he funny? because in most of the episodes he was very obsessed with his hair like the time his head was stuck in the automatic bed and his buddy Joey knew he didn't want his hair touched so he goes ahead messing up Jesse's hair!(ha ha ha). So when you see him on Full House think of the things I said and maybe, just maybe you will enjoy his humor too!"

--princess

"I am SOOOO obsessed watching Full House!! I watch it every day. It's the best T. V show on this planet. It makes me laugh so much every time I watch it and I think Mary-Kate and Ashley ARE SO CUTE!. . . That's the best part about the show, watching them! One of my favorite episodes was when D. J. and Stephanie were teasing Michelle about the size of her feet (and that night she had a very funny dream, clown shoes included! I love all of the shows because every episode gives a good meaning about life and makes you laugh every time. Mary-Kate and Ashley are GOOD PEOPLE AND GREAT!!"

--Missy

"I use to watch full house every single day after school at 4:00. I would get mad everytime I couldnt watch an episode. I watched Full house since I was 7 years old. But there's one problem. It just stopped going on TV and I really wish it would go on again in my home town called Rankin Inlet Nunavut. It would make me really happy. My favorite character on Full house was Stephanie Tanner because she was really pretty and she made me laugh. I liked the Episode when the whole family and Kimmy went to Disney Land and Michelle got to be princess for a day. That was my favorite clip. It would make me very very very very happy If the show would go on again. I watch Days of our lives after school now but I still wish Full House would go on again after school because Im the biggest fan Full House will ever have."

--C.N.

"I grew up watching Full house and loving it. I remember when D. J, Stephanie, Michelle and Steve all went to summer camp and Michelle took a bunny home from the wild. I also remenber when Michelle didint want Teddy to move to Texas so she tied him up with a skipping rope! Those days of watching Full House are over because it doesn't go on any more but If you could put it on again it would mean the world to me, my pals and alot of other Full House fans."

--C.N.

"My favorite episode of Full house is the one where Michelle falls in love with Steve and aks him to marry her that is the best episode ever, also the one where Jesse and Becky try to get nicky and alex into belton hall pre - school like there friends kid Cooper he is so cute!! I watch full house all the time it is a awesome show."

--Anonymous

"My favorite episode was when Michelle lost her memory and she didn't know who her family. It touched me because the family was trying to do everything so that Michelle could remember and Jesse said that when Michelle lost her memeory something in their heart was missing too."

--Flow(Full House fan)

"I absolutely adored the show. I used to say "How rude!" and "You got it, dude!" like it was so cool. I still remember the night they aired the final episode - I wrote the station a letter of outrage (I was only about 10). I could never choose a favourite episode but to mention a few, the Disneyland show, D. J. 's prom, Jesse and Rebecca's wedding, any compilation shows (Michelle's 5th birthday / Almost selling the house), the birth of the twins. . . I could go on forever. I miss the show and I will be buying every season on dvd (no matter what my husband says)!"

--Anonymous

"I love Full House. My favorite episode is when there were three Michelles (one is the nice Michelle, one is the mean Michelle and one is the real Michelle)."

--Jess

I mean right now I am 12 years old and been wtching for 12 years and I still today love this show! I hope it plays forever. This show has every emotion watching it. Sadness, happiness and funny! I hope everyone will someday watch thi show and relize what a GREAT show this is!"

--Breana

"I love Full House. I still watch the re-runs today with my children. Remember the episode with Scott Baio (from Happy Days). I also loved the songs that Jesse (John Stamos) sang in the shows."

"Full House is definitely my favorite show. And my favorite episode would have to be Captain Video: Part Two where Jesse makes the music video. Jesse (aka John Stamos) is just so hot and it was so sweet seeing him in such an awesome music video. It was also funny seeing him try to do "The Jessmen", his dance!"

--Anonymous

"I only started watching Full House 1 year ago. I just fell in love with it. My moms friend, used to say "you remind me of Danny Tanner. " My mom didn't know who she was talking about. I got her hooked on it. Now eveyone loves it! My friends, and my family. My favorite character is Jesse. He's soooo cute. I'm always wishing, that I could be Becky on Full House. I'd love that!."

--Anonymous

"I enjoyed the episode when Jesse and Rebecca just got married and Jesse is going to move out. This episode is actually sad when Michelle gave Jesse her piggy. This made my cry, literally! It is funny when Michelle thinks that she is moving too. "

--Anonymous

"Omigod! I absolutely love Full House. My favourite episode is when Michelle has the sniffles and Stephanie has to do a book report and D. j. ends up babysitting and wants to go to the movies with Steve. She ends up taking the girls with her even though they're not suppose to go. I just loved that episode. Full House Rocks! Please come out on DVD!!!"

--Passions Girl

" Full House is one of the greatest shows ever!!!!!!!! I watch the reruns all the time. My favorite episode is the one where Stephanie, Joey, and Jesse get the chicken pox. Nobody had ever really gotten sick on the show before and I think it was nice to dedicate a whole show to it. One of my favorite parts is when Jesse is sitting in the middle of Stephanie and Joey and spraying them with the stuff that helped the itch and every time he sprayed them they would go "Oooh, aahhh, oooh, ahh. " and they started a song about it. It was really funny I was laughing soo hard. My other favorite part is when Joey and Jesse are rubbing against each other and they don't realize Danny is there watching them. When they finally notice, they laugh nervously and say together "Hello. " The expressions on their faces is what really cracked me up. They're both looking like naughty little boys that have been caught by the teacher with their guilty faces."

--catcrazy

"Full House is the best show in the world. It will make you laugh. It takes place in San Fransisco. And it played It's about a family that all lives toghther. J Tanner, Jodie Sweetin playing as Stephanie Tanner, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen playing as Michelle Tanner, Lori Loughlin playing as Rebecca Donaldson or Becky, and lastly Andrea Barber playing as Kimmy Gibler. That my review. And remember that Full House is the best."

--FULL HOUSE RULES

" Ah, "Full House". Only 6 simple words can accurately describe this smash-hit Awesome80s family situation comedy about a helpless widower and his loving family: THE GREATEST SHOW IN THE UNIVERSE!!!

Was this show halariously funny? In my opinion, no; but is this show the kind of show where you can just sit down and spend a half-hour with a family that can solve any problem within the time their network granted them on the air? Is this the kind of show where you can be going through a terribly horrific problem in your life and just kick back and escape from this rotten world for 30 minutes? My answer: ABSOLUTELY YES. Just hearing the opening theme song can bring tears to my eyes. I know it sounds silly, but it's true for me. People can be critical of this show's writing and acting and overall quality, but if you ask me, all that doesn't matter. This show was simple, but it was about a family that loved and cared about eachother and talked with eachother. That just isn't very common anymore. We need more entertainment like this. The Tanner family is MY second family. And I love them all dearly."

"A sportscaster named Danny Tanner's (Bob Saget) wife dies in a car accident. He has three daughters, DJ, Stephanie, and Michelle. (Candace Cameron, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-kate and Ashley Olsen) He asks his brother-in-law Jesse(John Stamos) and his best friend Joey(Dave Coulier) to move in and help him out. As the show evolves, Danny gets a job on a morining talk show, 'Wake up San Francisco' with a woman named Rebecca Donaldson. (Lori Loughlin)She meets Jesse and they eventually fall in love, get married, and have two adorable twin boys named Nicky and Alex. (Blake and Dylan Tuomy-Wlhoit)And all this happens as we follow DJ's dates, Jesse's band, Stephanie and Michelle's friends and crushes, Joey's comedy, and Danny's girlfriends. A great show for the whole family!"

"Full House has always been a favorite show of mine, as a matter of fact, I have two sons and named them Nick (10) and Alex (11)after the twin boys that Jesse and Rebecca had on the show! I thought it was absolutely wonderful when my two boys told me that they had found a new favorite show that they wanted to share with me and guess what show it was--Full House! They found it on their own and had started to watch it! Boy, were they surprised to know that I had named them because of that show! They watch it faithfully every night (2 episodes) and now have their friends watching too. I am so glad. That show is wonderful! It shows people able to live together, work out their problems, support one another emotionally and stay together despite differences. It teaches tolerance, faithfulness, compromise, responsibility and how to love unconditionally---lessons we all need to learn and be reminded of. It is a great way to spend quality family time; watch it together, it will warm your heart. "

"I remember when I was a little kid. I lived with my single mother who worked late into the night. By the time she came home she was exhausted, so I didn't have anyone to talk to. She immediately went to sleep, leaving me to tend to my self. But then i'd put on Full House, and every thing just seemed to be all right! I always seemed to love the episode where Jesse left them to pursue his old wild and crazy life. But then D. J and Stephanie told him that Michelle was sick, and he rushed back. It always gave me a warm feeling!"

--The Kid

"Happie Birthday Babies (2) Michelle&'s birthday party is about to start when Becky announces she is going into labor. Jesse rushes her to the hospital. There, a doctor says Jesse has appendicitis and needs to go into surgery. Meanwhile, at the party Joey rushes everyone out so that everyone can go to the hospital. Danny is already there coaching Beck while Jesse is in surgery. When Jesse comes out of surgery Becky has not had the babies yet. Jesse lost his memory temporarily. However, he still sees Becky have the babies. The End"

"I love the episode where Jesse and Becky get married. I love the song Jesse sings to Becky. If anyone knows the lyrics to that song plez tell me!"

--bob

"My favorite was when one of Rebeccas cousins came with their twins and made Jessie all mad so he entered Nicky and Alex and one with their Elvis inpression. P. S I think stephanie is so sexy and hot. "

"I love Full House, I think that it was one of the best sitcoms in the 90s. One of my favorite episodes was when they took the trip to Disney World. It was a two part episode! It was great. I really wonder what everyone is up to now. I mean I know about the twins, obviously! And about Uncle Jesse(John Stamos), but what about D. J, Stephanie, and the rest of the gang that kept me smiling evry Fridat for a long time! Kimmy too and her stinky feet!"
