Silver SpoonsBy Wikipedia
Silver Spoons was a sitcom that aired on NBC from 1982 to 1986
and in first-run syndication from 1986 to 1987.
It starred Ricky Schroder as Ricky Stratton, a young kid who has
returned from boarding school to find his single father, Edward Stratton
III (played by Joel Higgins), is an overgrown kid who takes little
responsibility for his multinational empire. Meanwhile, the older Stratton
thinks that his son is an uptight dork who needs to get out and have fun
while he's still a kid. Stratton's personal assistant, Kate Summers
(played by Erin Gray), was married to Stratton further into the series.
The title of the show is based on the idea that rich children have a
silver spoon in their mouth, implying that they are given only the very
best and want for nothing. Despite the premise of the show the goal of the
show was to disprove this notion.

"An rad show a couple of my favorite episodes are when Ricky's gang want to "dine and dash" and he gives a awesome speech about how it is just plain wrong! The one where Derek saves Ricky's life and doesn't have a date for his party so Rick has to be his date (dress up like a girl-the whole nine yards!). One where Rick's stepmom walks in on him in the shower, and he moves out (to the cottage out back) but decidces its too much trouble! There are so many more!" --TT |
