21 Jump Street

By DeppGirl10

From 1987 to 1991, 21 Jump Street was a drama about LAPD cops going undercover in high schools to bust druggies. This was, and still is the best TV show because it stars the one, the only, Johnny Depp! The main characters were Tom Hanson (played by Johnny until he left the show in 1990 to film Cry-Baby, he was replaced by Michael Bendetti); Judy Hoffs (Holly Robinson); Doug Penhall (Peter DeLuise); and H.T. Ioki (Dustin Ngyuen). They each went undercover, and usually an episode would revolve around one character, their assignment, and some personal issue they were dealing with on the side.

The show kind of lost it's popularity with the viewers when Depp left (and it did especially with me). I am 15 years old, and I learned about this show in 2000, because re-runs were shown on a local TV station. I fell in love, and this became a daily ritual before homework every day. It doesn't run that often anymore, but when it does I'm sure to tape it.

This show is well worth the hour, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Well, at least that's how it is for me. I give the TV program a 5 out of 5 stars!

Your Memories Shared!

"Hi I really liked 21 Jump Street and I'd like to see it put on the air. I was an extra in some of them, the one's I remember, 1)We where at a comedy club in Vancouver I think it was yuk yuk's I was wairing a yellow dress. 2)We where at a park in burnaby at a big party and Dustin and peter where playing twins, they where sitting at a picnic table wairing purple and white striped shirts I think! and I was standing behind them in a white jacket."

"My favorite episode is the one where Tom Hanson played a ganster and tried to talk the slang where he was saying Vito instead of Vato - too funny!"

"This was the show where I had my crush on Holly Robinson (Hoffs). What a babe she was. The show was a very relavent and well written show for the young people (including myself) at that time. I look forward to its move to the big screen and hope it will deliver as it did on TV (I think Johnny Depp would make the perfect Captain Jenko in the movie version)."

--F.T.

"I just started to watch 21 Jump Street last year, when it was on a local Philadelphia channel. This has become my favorite show. I'm 13 years old, and I am totally obbsessed with this show (especially Johnny Depp). My favorite episode of all time is Old Haunts in a New Age. Hanson's little one-liners after everything Penhall says are hilarious!!!! The best friend relationship with Penhall and Hanson is probably why I like the show soo much. I can't wait for the DVD to come out, and will always watch it.

Love you Johnny Depp!"
