FameBy lookwhatthecatdraggedin
Fame was awesome, especially for all those teenagers who dreamed of
being a star, and let's face it, what teenager doesn't?
The plot revolved around the School for the Performing Arts and gave us
glimpses into the lives of the would be singers, dancers, musicians and
Broadway stars of tomorrow. Led on their journey to fame, by the great
Debbie Allen, the kids would hone their talents and create fabulous
productions to enlighten us every week.
A young Janet Jackson captivated us with Dream Street. We had Carlo
Imperato, Jesse Borrego, Gene Anthony Rae, Nia Peeples, and Cynthia Gibb
portraying the main characters of Danny, Jesse, Leroy, Nikki and Holly. Of
course, characters were added along the way, to weave their magic into the
already spectacular cast, such as Paige Hannah and Billy Hufsey.
But, in the end, I have to say that I religiously taped every episode and
sang the songs until my voice was hoarse. Yes, I even danced on the table
a few times! The show was great, the cast was fabulous and this show made
me believe that I'm gonna live forever. Baby remember my name...

"In two words....Great music! Who grew up in the Awesome80s without hearing and dancing to Fame and falling in love with Leroy or Coco? I also loved the television show! Synthesizers, dancing, acting, sadness, happiness, jealousy, etc. It has it all!" --Anonymous | " I will definitely never forget all the company and those lovely young people in the School of the Arts, music and dancing and the beautiful songs I grew up on! They filled out my girlish joy and as long as they lasted I was over the moon!!! Hello to them and all the things my generation will remember as something best that happened to all of us!!!!
