Tales of the Gold MonkeyBy Wikipedia
Tales of the Gold Monkey was a 1982 television show
broadcast by ABC. The network's attempt to capitalize on the fame of the
movie Raiders
of the Lost Ark the previous year featured an ex-Flying Tigers
Indiana Jones-like operator of an air cargo delivery service named Jake
Cutter (played by Stephen Collins) who flew a red and white Grumman Goose
called Cutter's Goose, his mechanic Corky, and a one-eyed Jack Russell
terrier who barked once for yes, and twice for no. Set in the 1930s, it
featured the characters' travel to exotic locales and fistfights. The
title is derived from the bar where the characters gathered, which
featured a golden monkey statue.

"Pointless show. A rip off of Raiders of the Lost Ark. After they found the monkey in the show. and the monkey wasn't gold at all i(f I remember). What was left to do?" --Anonymous | "I believe this was supposed to be a take-off of Raiders of the Lost Arc. I think it was an archeologist hunting for treasures. I remember my best friend in grade school would go on and on about the show, so I felt like I had to watch it. Does anyone else remember anything about it?" --Kimwat |
