"After a 3 year absence from the airwaves, the Carpenters hit the charts with Touch Me When We're Dancing. The songs are excellent and even features Karen's wedding song, Because We Are In Love. Although her marriage was short lived, the song will embrace us eternally. This was the final Carpenters album produced during Karen's lifetime." --DKeen43 | "Being that this was the last album that Karen made with her brother, Richard, before she died, it is very special to me. What more wonderful music she could have sang." --Dr. Duck | "This album is truly a climax in the journey that is the Carpenters. Great new tracks feature the richness in Karen's voice such as Touch me when we're dancing and I believe You. Best track - I want you back in my life again - Notable track - Strength of A woman. One of the best albums ever produced by the Carpenters." --Ross | "Made In America was the last album to be released during Karen Carpenter's lifetime. As with any Carpenters album you can't quite pinpoint it to a particular year or era. The only giveaway that it is an Awesome80s' album is the pop song (Want You) Back In My Life Again. Unfortunately Richard's and Karen's plans to begin the Awesome80s like they did the Super70s with a big hit, in 1970 they had Close To You and We've Only Just Begun) did not materialise. Touch Me When We're Dancing was their last Top 20 hit, and within two years Karen had died because of her anorexia. Overall, Made In America is a nice album, beautiful to listen to because of that voice, but certainly not one of the major highlights of the The Carpenters' nine studio albums, 1969 - 1981." --Yvonne |
