"Paul was talking of a world tour with the release of "Press to Play" however it was quickly abandoned for the album fizzled as soon as it hit the stores. As a die hard McCartney fan I remember that this LP was better than "Pipes of Peace" however still a difficult listen. "Stranglehold, "Only love remains" and "Press" are the worthy cuts while the rest is miserable rehash of Awesome80s techno pop. Paul's toughest critic, John was gone now. It was a long wait until '89 to hear "Flowers in the dirt" for which Macca showed a renewed spark. The album cover is loely of him and Linda and still holds up today of two people very much in love." --Sundark |
